Refrigerator Repair

Weston houses generally run a full-height built-in in the kitchen with overflow refrigeration in a pantry, mudroom or garage bay. We work through sealed-system diagnosis, condenser and evaporator fans, control boards and panel-ready door hardware on legacy 600 series cabinets and current models alike.

A bright kitchen with people around a marble island and a tall glass-door refrigerator built into the cabinetry behind them

Told to us on the phone

The complaints, as they arrive

  • Door bins and butter shelf warmer than the middle of the cabinet
  • Short cycling that trips the kitchen circuit
  • A panel-ready door dragging on the cabinet stile
  • Frost forming along the divider between fresh food and freezer

On the visit

The readings taken

  1. Cabinet and freezer temperature logged against the set point over a full cycle
  2. Condenser cleanliness and condenser fan draw, the two things that decide whether it ever catches up
  3. Evaporator fan, air damper and defrost termination
  4. Door closure on a panelled front: hinge height, cabinet stile clearance and gasket contact
  5. Sealed-system pressures only once everything cheaper has been ruled out

Cost

Why there is no price list here

A repair figure quoted before the fault is known is a guess with a dollar sign on it. The one number fixed in advance is the $95 service call — the visit and the full diagnosis — and it comes off the repair once you approve it.

  • Which system the fault is in — control, airflow, defrost or sealed system
  • Whether the part is current stock or has to be sourced against an older model
  • How the cabinet is installed, and whether panelling has to come off to reach it
  • Whether one visit confirms the diagnosis or the fault only appears on a long run

The panelled built-in beside the island quit cooling on the fresh food side only. Diagnosis took twenty minutes: the damper between compartments had jammed shut. He freed it, renewed the motor, rechecked both.

Door bins ran noticeably warmer than the middle shelves. Behind the rear panel the air duct had iced over from a small defrost fault. He cleared it and explained why the top of a cabinet suffers first.

Tight kitchen, built-in sitting in the old pantry opening. He got it out on sliders without marking the floor and replaced a seized condenser fan.
