Everything is closer together
In a compact renovated kitchen the refrigeration cabinet usually has cabinetry on one side, a wall on the other, a worktop over the top, and a range within arm’s reach. Each of those on its own is survivable. Together they leave the condenser with a narrow margin, and a warm evening with the oven on is enough to eat it.
The practical consequence is that a real proportion of calls here end with airflow work and a cleaned coil rather than a part. That is a better result than the one people expect and it is worth ruling in before anything else.
Salt, and the cabinet downstairs
Revere is close enough to the water for marine air to matter, so the condenser inspection is not a formality. And a good many of these houses keep a second refrigerator or freezer in a basement, where the ambient runs cold in winter and damp in summer — a combination that produces both the cold-weather stall and the mouldy gasket, sometimes in the same appliance in the same year.

Cabinet built into the dining room wall with no clearance either side. The rear vent path was choked. A spacer kit sorted it and it has been steady since.
